The World Heritage Convention, adopted by UNESCO in 1972, was founded on the American national park idea and its combined conservation of cultural and natural sites. Boasting over 40 retail locations, restaurants, and specialty shops, Congressional Plaza has everything you could need for your day-to-day or something special. Congressional Plaza’s new brand was designed to be a hybrid: it draws influence from geometric, Craftsman-style architecture and typefaces of the period; however, it is modernized by simplifying the architectural elements and condensing the letterforms. The color palette, inspired by the Maryland landscape, complements a series of patterns used as signage background details. The environmental design for Congressional Plaza needed a facelift. Signage criteria was implemented to keep all the tenants consistent, and natural materials such as stone and wood were used to bring together the rustic and modern aspects of the project. House, BRD serves creative fried chicken sandwiches and wings made with the finest ingredients possible. BRD strives to provide old school hospitality and chicken you won’t forget. BRD came for help to brand and design out their stall and website. The brand is inspired by deep southern small-town restaurants, and play with neon signage as the primary aesthetic. The stall design for BRD deepens the brand by including a neon sign and letter board for their menu. Chevron wood and black metal detailing give the stall a homey feeling. BRD’s website makes use of the neon-inspired brand to present a fun, custom experience. The one-pager design allows users to quickly find information about the location and menu. House in north Baltimore. Amano Taco brings authentic Mexican family cooking with a creative twist. I designed the Amano Taco branding, stall graphics, and website. For Amano, we decided on a southwest-inspired look, with rounded typefaces and bright, warm colors. Their stand inside R. House makes use of minimal materials, with painted beet board and a wall-mounted menu. Finally, Amano Taco’s website expands on the brand, and includes textures and patterns to liven up the experience. The one-page design gives users a quick glance at important information and their menu. The Partners were in need of a new identity to reflect their new team, so a new, adaptable logo was created, as well as a monogram featuring 3 different color variations to be used depending on which type of clientele they would be working with. A new, more playful website was then designed to reflect their more modern, forward-thinking approach. Ranging from antiques to repurposed refuse, the term ‘one person’s trash is another’s treasure’ couldn’t be more true. The Sisters needed a brand that showcased what they do through a simple aesthetic that carried through from the logo to the website.
